The main reason is:
Most of us average motorists are put off by the idea of appealing our Parking Ticket. We think it’s going to be difficult, frustrating and a long drawn out process that we will ultimately lose.
Hence, most of us decide to just pay the reduced fine of 50% charge rather than appeal and risk having to pay the full amount of the fine. Even if we know we are right.
This is a big mistake
Local Authorities need to adhere to regulations contained in the ‘Road traffic act 1991’ and ‘London Local Authorities Act’ when issuing Parking Tickets, however this is often not the case and many fall far short of their obligations. |
